Introducing Austin_Music at Blogspot
During my first year in Austin, TX (completed as of earlier this month) I probably attended 5 times the number of live musical events that I'd been to in the prior 20 years of my life. I've decided henceforth to chronicle the musical journey I've embarked upon here, for several reasons.
First, this will serve as a personal journal to help me keep track of the various bands and venues I have and will encounter in Austin. Secondly, this blog will hopefully facilitate the exchange of information about groups and venues between me and fellow Austinites, helping us all to learn new things and make exciting musical discoveries. Third and lastly, I would like to polish my writing skills by working on a focused topic, unlike my personal blog (Musings of a Procrastinating Musician) where I tend to ramble incoherently.
Although the focus is on the Austin music scene, I may digress into discussions of live events in other cities, and general musical criticism. I hope if anyone's reading this, that y'all enjoy it!! =)
